Another year older...

It's hard for me to believe that my little Neon doggie is 12 years old tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday I got the call that my little bundle of fur was ready to pick up! I remember going to my first Guide Dog meeting to pick him up on the 21st of December (my best Christmas gift!!) That next year and a half we were inseparable! He joined me for all of my college classes, movie outings, even a blind date (pretty ironic considering he was my seeing eye dog! lol) Giving him up was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do... However as I was working one day I received a call that he was going to be dropped from the program due to a medical condition (which I totally think he faked just to come home to me because he has never showed signs of the condition) and I was asked if I had an interest in taking him back... hmmm let me think for a minute... Uhhh yea I'll take him back I said! And the rest is history.... He is the best dog ever! Yes he can be a little stubborn at times, but all his other traits far out number that. He has been a wonderful companion, guard dog (as much as a Golden can be) and the biggest jokester in his younger years

.... now that he is turning 12 he is living the slower life.... days filled with sleeping and awaiting that next meal! LOL So happy 12th birthday to my first baby, I hope that we have many more years with you!

Ultrasound Photo Updates

Ok, I turned the photos sideways so that it kinda looks like they are sitting up. (Seems to be the only way my mom can tell so I thought it might help others as well) We are just shy of 24 weeks.... Only about 12 weeks left to go WooHoo!! Wow some days it just feels like it is flying by!!! Guess I better get crackin on the room! We went for a check up today and I was telling the doc that I thought baby B was just kickin up a storm, but she informed me that it could actually be either one because both of their feet are right next to each other. Baby B is definitely the one cutting off my air supply though... sitting right under my breast bone it feels like!! Baby A is sitting farther down so my bladder gets hit with that one. LOL The first photo is Baby A (Shake) I thought it was a nice profile, we had another one of a wave (always seems to be doing that!) but it was a little blurry. Second photo is Baby B (Bake) sucking a thumb!

Almost a week...

It has been almost a week since I said Goodbye... Last Saturday was probably the second hardest day of my life so far, it was the day that I had to say goodbye to my beautiful Neon of 13 1/2 years. My mind was and has been flooded with so many memories since that day.  I got Neon through the Guide Dog program to raise as a seeing eye dog.  He was special because they had brought him in from NY so that he would become a breeder with the CA program.  I remember the day I received the news that my puppy was here and I was getting a golden!  I arrived at the puppy ceramony Dec. 21, 1997 and fell in love for the first time in my life!!! Neon was only 8 weeks old when I got him.  He went everywhere with me... movies, restaurants, college, etc.. until he was 18 months old at which time I had to return him to the program (and I thought I would never see him again).  I received a call from the school about 6 months later letting me know that they were releasing Neon from the program because of

.......Shake N Bake........

These might be difficult to understand but we wanted to share them anyway, they kinda look like little aliens right now. LOL Baby B (aka: Bake) was being very difficult today and did not want to be photographed much. Baby A (aka: Shake) was really liking the photos and we were able to see a lot more of him or her.
