Wayne's Birthday

Image
Yesterday we celebrated Wayne's Birthday.  We started out the day volunteering in the 2 year old classroom at church where one of the kids threw up on Wayne!  LOL Afterwards we went to breakfast then picked up the boys at my mom's to head home for a nap.  (I of course got sick this weekend so I needed a nap.) Once up we headed back over to my mom's to take some family photos for our Christmas card and have dinner.  Wayne had requested ribs and red velvet cake, so we obliged.  A good time was had by all!! Happy Birthday Sweety!!

Remembering our baby girl today....

ER Visit

Image
Well we finally had our first ER visit with Cole on Saturday morning!  We were getting ready to leave to run errands and Cole went to go get changed but while leaving the room he fell and hit the metal bed frame on our bed.  Wayne said he knew right away that we needed to go to the ER.  We drove him down to the hospital and waited for a couple of hours.  He ended up needing 4 stitches since his ear was butterflied open.  He was so brave!  Don't get me wrong there was a lot of crying but he could have been much worse!!  For being so brave we took him to Chic-fil-a but before we could order he fell asleep from exhaustion.  Upon getting home he promptly sat up and asked for his chicken and fries and his El Torro Loco monster truck we had promised him for his bravery.  :)      At the hospital Wayne and the nurse holding him for his stitches (I was holding Cody) Afterwards As you can see he feels much better the next morning!

Colorado

Image
We decided to go to Colorado for Labor Day.  It was so nice to get away from the hussle and bussle for awhile and just relax with no time schedules.  I was a little concerned with the altitude and Cody (we had a problem with Cole going up there when he was that little) but he did great!  We wished we could have stayed longer!       Cody snuggling Cole stopping to smell the flowers on our walk Don't feed the bears! Our day trip to Telluride Eating lunch down by the river Going on a walk after dinner

Children's Museum

Image
We recently took Cole to the children's museum in downtown Phoenix.  We thought it would be something fun to do as a family before Wayne headed back to work.  Cole had a blast!  I think we may need to go back. :o)     Cole and Wayne up in the big metal tree house.  I think Cole could have spent all day in there! Playing with the lighted sandbox Carwash anyone?! He loved banging away making music! Who doesn't like a toothpaste car??? Cody and I on the motorcycle

Baby Boy!!

Image
For some reason my computer at home is giving me problems with posting so now that I have a few minutes at work on my computer I will post a few photos that are long over due.    On June 25th we had another beautiful baby boy we named Cody John.  He was born at 6:46am weighting in at 7lbs 4oz (which is funny because we know 2 other couples that had babies within this month and their babies weighted the same!!) he was 20 1/4" long.      I will try to post more things soon!

Happenings at the Melton house....

Wow what a week!  Wayne got an emergency phone call while at work from his sister Lisa that his other sister in TX had taken a turn with her sickness and was in the hospital.  Without hesitation we decided he needed to go with his 2 sisters to see what they could do to help.  So they hopped on a plane and went out.  He was gone for about a week then decided to drive one of the vehicles home with his sisters 2 dogs.  He has been fighting with himself feeling like he should have stayed longer (his 2 sisters are still there) however he knows that he has many obligations here and he needed to return. We received a call today that it is not looking good and his sister may not survive another week, so Wayne may be flying back out to TX soon. Please keep him in your prayers as he is going tonight to deliver the news to his parents.    We now have 4 large dogs in our household with less than 3 weeks left before baby Melton arrives.  It's hard to believe that it is under 3 week

32 1/2 WEEKS

WE WENT FOR OUR 32 WEEK ULTRASOUND TODAY THINKING THAT WE WOULD GET SOME GOOD PICTURES SINCE OUR LAST VISIT DID NOT PRODUCE MUCH.... WELL WE WERE WRONG!  OUR CHILD IS DEFINITELY A FLEXIBLE LITTLE THING!  HE OR SHE HAS FLIPPED AND IS NOW FACING DOWN WITH THE HEAD ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY STOMACH AND THE BUTT ON THE LEFT CURVING DOWN ON THE LEFT WITH THE FEET FOLDED UP BY THE FACE AGAIN.  DOES NOT SOUND COMFORTABLE TO ME BUT MUST BE CONSIDERING THIS FOLDED POSITION WAS THE SAME ONE WE SAW LAST VISIT (ONLY THE BABY WAS REVERSED WITH HEAD ON THE LEFT BUTT ON THE RIGHT).  SO WE DID NOT GET ANY PICTURES AS THE LEGS WERE IN FRONT OF THE FACE AGAIN.   THIS BABY IS VERY ACTIVE AS WELL!!! OUR LITTLE ONE IS NOW 5LBS AND LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE AROUND 7 OR SO POUNDS WHEN BORN WITH LOTS OF HAIR!!  OTHER THAN FEELING A LITTLE TIRED AND MY FEET STARTING TO SWELL BY THE END OF THE DAY THINGS ARE MOVING ALONG VERY WELL.  NOW I JUST NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM IRONING AS THIS WEEK I DISCOVERED MY BELLY IS TO

Swim Lessons

Image
Cole started his first swim lessons last week and did great!!  I had been prepared by several friends to expect a lot of crying, etc... He did none of that (well until yesterday but I hope that was just a fluke).  He has been sitting on the step like they ask him to until his turn which really surprised me.  I can see why it is better to have someone else teach instead of the parent because I know he would not listen to me if I asked him to sit on the step and wait.  At the end of each class the kids get to pick out a treat which I think is a big incentive!  I am hoping we will be able to continue with the classes and make him an expert swimmer this summer!

Maternity Photos

Image
If you know me you know I love photography!!!  We recently had a good friend of ours take some maternity photos for us and she did a wonderful job!!  She has done all of our photo for the past 4-5 years.  She specializes in maternity and newborn so as soon as our little bundle of joy arrives you will be seeing more photos!  Here are just a few.... Thank you so much Bri!!

28 week appointment

Image
We had our 28 week appointment today and my mom went with as she has never seen an ultrasound before.  Of course this is the week that the baby decided not to cooperate!  Since I call Cole my little circus monkey as he is always climbing on everything it is good to see that this baby is keeping in tradition with the circus performances.... the baby was completely folded in half!!!!  In the first photo below you can make out the face and what looks like an arm is actually a leg!  We were all amazed at the flexibility!!  Mom said it's got to be a girl as no boy is that flexible! Hahaha  Since this little one was not being cooperative today mom will just have to go back to another ultrasound to see the baby a little better.  Things are going good.  I have bad heartburn but other than that I am doing pretty good right now.  Can't believe we only have about 10 more weeks!  Seems like a ways off but I think it is going to go by fast! Looking forward to our photo sessio

Room Change

Image
Well we finally did it... We moved Cole into his new room.  He has done great so far!!  As you can tell from the photo it is a Cars theme.  He has an obsession with Cars right now and knows all the characters.  He spends his waking moments asking to watch the movie over and over and over again.  Now he can spend his sleeping moments dreaming of them as they are on the walls next to his head.  I started him out with a nap and he did great so I thought why not try him over night, he did even better!  It was probably harder on me than it was on him :o) Now we are all ready for a new baby in the nursery.

Such a big boy

Our little guy is turning into such a big boy!  He is just such a blessing!!  We just love him to death!     Learning his alphabet Riding the train Being a silly clown Learning his planets

Valentine's Special

So for Valentine's Day we got our good news that new baby Melton is perfect!  The doctor went over all the measurements with us and said everything is looking great!!  I have heard of pregnant women being forgetful, however I don't know how I could have forgotten a whole week and a half!  The doctors office has me down as being 20weeks 4 days and in my mind I was going to be 19 weeks this weekend!  Oh well I guess it doesn't really matter, just means we are that much closer right?!  I know that Wayne has been very stressed over this appointment (for some reason I have not) so today's news was so good for him to hear!  Sorry I don't really have any photos (the tech we had didn't do a good job at capturing our baby like past tech's.)   Happy Valentine's Day!!!

ultrasound updates

Image
We had another appointment this morning and got some new ultrasound photos.  They told us that everything is looking normal, baby is very active!!  Our next appointment will be the one that they do all the measurements.  I think once that one is past we will be a little less stressed. :)      3D photo (sucking thumb)     4D photos
