Melton Memories

We just returned from our trip to California.  The weather was wonderful!!!!  To say that it was a vacation may be using the wrong words... LOL  I would say that it was more of a trip.  Cody was very, very, very clingy with me.  He did not want ANYONE but me to hold him (even his Daddy).  If I was not sitting right next to him on the beach he would start crying.  His sleep was not very good, he didn't nap well and he woke up crying a lot in the night.  This caused Wayne and I not to get much sleep either.  Cole on the other hand slept through everything!  I figured out why Cody was so fussy and clingy the morning we were leaving.... His first tooth finally popped through!!  Poor little guy was teething plus out of sorts from not having his normal routine in place.  Hopefully next year he will have a much better time.  :)   Here are some of our photos.  I have a few more I still need to download.   ...

I just love this little guy more and more every day!  He has such a laid back attitude about life.  Currently having a 3.5 yr old that is defiant and a picky eater really makes it easy to be around Cody who doesn't seem to care about anything and eats every thing in site!!  LOL His teeth are still trying to make an appearance, they are right there at the surface, they just don't want to come through yet.  He is currently 21 lbs, 31" long!! Won't be long before he passes up his brother.     

I'm a little late in posting Happy Birthday to our little guy!  We had a bug themed birthday party on Saturday at a park for Cody which included M&M's (beetle bugs) Ladybugs (chocolate chip cookies) Caterpillars (grapes on sticks) Rollie Pollies (whoppers) Stick bugs (pretzels) and Snails Tails (tortilla sandwiches).  Of course we also had to have Bug Juice!!  It only seemed fitting to do a bug theme since he is known as Cody Bug to everyone.  It was very hot out but I think it was still a big success!  I think we were all shocked that he ate his whole cupcake!!!  I just love this little guy to pieces.  He is so easy going and loving to everyone! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LITTLE BABY BOY!   How big is Cody?! So big! Is this for me?? Mmmmm  Cleaned up after his cupcake Gifts Fun was had by all!

I can't believe that Cody (bugs) is going to be a year in another week and a half!  Where did a year go?!!  Even though it is super duper hot out these days the boys want to play in the back yard.  So I had them wait until 7:30 to go out so that we wouldn't have to play in the full sun.  It was so fun to watch the 2 of them play with their planes.      Tuesday Wayne had tickets to the Diamondbacks game right at the dug out!!!  He took Cole for his first game and the 2 of them had a blast!!  For days leading up to the game Cole kept telling us how he was going to get popcorn.  Well he did and he ate the WHOLE box!!!  I think they'll be going back to more games! :)   Cody bugs wanted to try our pizza so bad that night that we decided to give him the crust to chew on.  He LOVED it!!!  Guess Grimaldi's is the best pizza around!!! (glad to see he got my genes for their pizza, hahaha) ...

Chick-fil-a was having a mother / son date "knight" the other night so I made reservations and took Cole.  He was very excited!!  I'm not sure if he was more excited because it was just going to be him and I or because chick-fil-a is his favorite place to go. lol We got there and he walked up to the table and said my name is Cole Melton and I am here with my mommy.  They sat us and he proceeded to hand me the flowers that were on the table for decoration and kept telling me they were for me.  He also kept telling me how beautiful he thought I was, it was so sweet!  When the guy came to ask what we would like he was very quick to say Chicken and Fries!!  There was a guy playing a guitar so he said Let's dance mommy (which is unusual because I always try to get him to dance at home and he refuses).  At the end of the dinner he brought me over a rose and pulled out money from his pocket and paid the guy!  It was so cute to watch and...
