Easter

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We went to the 9:30 service at church and it was GREAT!! Brought me to tears a time or two.... We then went over to my mom & John's for a light breakfast of homemade blueberry muffins and eggs! Yum!!! Mom & John went to the lake to bask in the sun and we headed home to do a few things before running out to Wayne's sister Lisa's house for dinner. Chad made a great dinner with 4 different kinds of chicken, veggies, etc... We were stuffed!! We hung out, played games and exchanged gifts with Lisa & Lori for their Birthdays then finally headed home. It was a long day but a good one!! I'm so glad that we were able to celebrate with family the love that Jesus had for us all and what he did for us!!!!

..... It's official.....

Service

If you know me at all you know that I have a great love for animals! Many of you may be aware that I raised my dog Neon to be a service dog ( Guide Dogs for the Blind) however he did not end up staying in the program due to medical reasons. As much as he was happy to do the things asked of him, he was much more happy to stay with me... We have a wonderful bond and he is "my baby". Upon seeing this video it made me think a lot about Neon... as much as he knew all the commands etc... I just always felt like we were pushing him into something that he didn't fully love. Watch the video that is attached to this link and it may give you a little inside into Neon & my world... Be aware that you may need a kleenex as it is a tear jerker in a happy way (but then again maybe it just is for me because it makes me think of my baby) If you have ever held an interest in training a service animal I would like to say "Go for it"!!! It is very rewarding to see how thes...

For the love of animals

I have always loved animals and have always pictured myself having LOTS of them! Growing up we had more animals than anyone I knew. We had an Avery with about 40 birds, 5 turtles, numerous dogs, a duck a cat and at one point we had 48 hamsters! My mom may have been going crazy but I loved them all!!!! This past week we were dog sitting and had 4 dogs in the house along with our 2 cats. My first thought was oh gosh this is going to be a week of chaos but surprisingly all the animals were great and got along very well! I say this as I am sitting here listening to Hemi (our littlest cat) flying around the house throwing himself into the blinds with Chloe running after him (hope wood can't break glass! lol) Anyway... Chula, the black Australian Shepard, and Honey the little cockapoo did great in our household! Honey has now returned home but we still have ChooChoo as Wayne likes to call her until the end of next week. All this to say... Whenever I bring up getting another animal Wayne ...

Horsing around

Some times it is the little things that crack me up the most. This weekend I spend some time with my friend Ann riding horses. We had a really good time! We went out to the state land by her house and rode for a while then came home and bathed & clipped the horses. The photo below is Parker. He was such a good boy during his bath time, he was letting me make him look silly for my own amusement. So of course I couldn't help but post it because it made me think of Alphalfa from the Little Rascals or a Unicorn you can decide which you like better. Enjoy.

Pennies

I received this in an email and thought it was very good so wanted to pass it along to all. Really gives you something to think about. :) You always hear the usual stories of pennies on the sidewalk being good luck, gifts from angels, etc. This is the first time I've ever heard this twist on the story. Gives you something to think about. Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband's employer's home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house. The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants.. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely. As the three ...
