Melton Memories

We started out our Valentine's weekend on Friday night because Wayne had to work this weekend.  We decided to go to the shooting range and then see American Sniper.  It was a very good movie, sad as well.  Wayne worked Saturday so I took the boys and all the dogs to get their shots (not the boys) at a clinic and was very happy to see that it was my old vet that was doing the vaccines.  Yesterday Wayne's Capt. suggested he take a vacation day that was open and come home to spend time with us.  So after church we headed out to Prescott with the boys.  It was so nice!!! We had lunch and walked around the town square.  We then took the boys to a little tiny zoo outside of town.  To finish off the day we drove home through Jerome as Wayne had never been.  Really neat to see all the houses & businesses built into the side of the mountain.  We topped out the night watching Monsters University (the boys favorite movie right now).  ...

  This past week or so has been a little off.  Cole got a stomach flu bug which lasted a little over a  week.  On top of that (after taking him to the doctor) we found out he had something called Fifths Disease (or slapped face fever).  He woke up with red marks on his face and it looked like he had been slapped in the face.  It was so weird!  I am glad to report he seems to finally be over everything and returning to normal.  His weight was starting to concern us (since he is a picky eater already) with him being sick and not eating for almost a week I was getting nervous.  Yesterday he finally felt well enough to eat and boy did he eat a lot!!!  Yay! While Cole was sick I spent a lot of time just hanging out around the house with the boys (Wayne was working overtime).  I realized that over the past month or so I have neglected to take out my camera... On Friday we went with our best friends to the Zoo.  The kids all love hanging out together and are very close in age.  It is so cute to see them all together!  Saturday Grandpa came up and we played and went to grab some lunch. The kids love having you up dad!  Cole: I loved Grandpa coming up yesterday... Me: well he loves you very much.... Cole: well I love him very much too! Cole also ventured out and tried 2 new things!  If you know him you know this is a big deal!!  He absolutely refuses anything dairy!!  He tried Mac & Cheese and Chocolate Milk!  Hopefully they will stick with him.    The boys brushing goats in the petting zoo.  Cody loves running from one goat to another! Every year we go up to Durango between Christmas and New Year.  This year we had a very nice time as the boys are getting to the age of enjoying the snow.  Cole was kinda into it last year but this year all he wanted to do was go out and play and build a snowman!  We celebrated my 40th Birthday... Say WHAT?!!  Didn't I just turn 30???  On Dec. 30th we made our first visit to the ER with Cody.  He was bringing a plate in to me in the kitchen and fell on the plate hitting it just right to split his forehead.  We thought about just bandaging it up ourselves but decided it may just keep reopening so it would be better to get stitches.  He did great!  The ER nurses and Doc where so nice!!  We rang in the New Year by going to bed early.  We did not have any tv so could not watch the ball drop like we usually do so decided with all the activity of the last few days to go to bed early.  We spent the New Years Day sledding with our fri...
