We just returned home from a 10 day trip to Colorado.  It was hard coming home to all the heat!!!  We had such a great time enjoying nature and the cooler weather!  We went on lots of hikes, Wayne biked around Vallecito Lake several times (15 miles of hills) and we just hung out at the house.  Can't wait to do it again next year!! So two weekends ago I got to go on a horseback riding / camping trip with my best friend Ann!  I was so excited to go!!! The group of women we joined have been doing this for 22 years! The last 3 years I have been unable to make it and wanted to make sure to join this year.  We came home late Thurday night from our CA trip so I could get up bright and early Friday morning to head out.  As soon as we got to Prescott it started pouring!  We didn't mind until we got closer to camp.  You see the road we were going on turned to a dirt road about 20 miles from camp... when dirt gets rained on it gets muddy... when you are pulling a horse trailer with a 2 wheel drive on very steep dirt muddy road and you have to stop behind 3 other vehicles you have a tendancy to start slidding backwards and you get umm shall we say STUCK!  Oh gosh what a beginning to our fun filled girls weekend camping trip!!  Since we were last in a canavan of 4 v...

We just returned from our yearly trip to California with all of Wayne's family.  This year his sister from TX came along with her 2 daughters that we have not seen in about 5 years making our group total 22!  Our stay started out a little rough as our hotel did not make us aware of the fact that the local train ran past our window every 40 minutes (including the night!)  Guess our first clue should have been the ear plugs they left on the night stand!!  After one night of that I went to the front desk and asked if we could move to the ocean side of the hotel and they had a room that was a major upgrade from our standard hotel room that they gave us (without the upgraded price!!!)  It was awesome!!  We had our own kitchen, washer/dryer, HUGE bathroom, basically it was a 1 bedroom condo.  That made our trip soooo much better!!!  Made mommy less cranky too!  The other plus was that we were right next door to Wayne's sisters instead of the norma...

Yesterday we decided to go check out story time at the library.  Since Cole LOVES books I thought he would enjoy going.  He really seemed to have fun running around the kids area picking up books and playing with the toys, however when we went into the story time room he lost interest quickly.  He tried to do what all the other kids were doing (dancing, singing, etc...) but I think they were all a little to advanced for him and he just wanted to go back out into the library and pick out books.  I think it is going to be a great place to bring him, however (and this may sound bad of me...) all the toys were so dirty!!  I don't know if I want to bring him back.  It was really hard for me not to break out the wipes and clean everything off for fear that I would be looked at as "that mom".  Ahh decisions, decisions...
